Small Business Vendor Insurance FAQs

What is a $1 Million Liability Policy?

ACT’s vendor liability insurance offers a $1 million occurrence limit and a $2 million aggregate limit. This means that for each claim (occurrence) you file, the maximum amount of coverage you can receive is $1 million.

The total amount of coverage you have for the policy year (aggregate) is $2 million.

Starting at just $49 per event, you can sell your unique art and craft goods with total peace of mind, knowing that you’re covered against common liability claims.

Why Do Vendors Need Insurance?

You need insurance to ensure your business is financially protected when claims arise. Carrying insurance safeguards you — and the event organizers — from claims like:

  • A customer slipping and falling in your booth
  • Damage to your neighboring vendor’s goods caused by your booth
  • Damage to the venue’s property caused by your artwork

More importantly, it gives you peace of mind to connect with customers and sell your products confidently.

Do I Need a COI as a Vendor?

Yes, you need a Certificate of Insurance (COI) as a vendor! Event organizers typically ask you to provide a COI as proof that you’re covered. As an ACT policyholder, your COI is immediately available through your online dashboard — view it right on your phone!

What Happens if You Don’t Have Liability Insurance?

If you don’t have liability insurance, it’s like taking a bet there will be zero accidents — but if something does go wrong, you could be stuck with medical bills, legal fees, or even a lawsuit.

You also risk being unaccepted at vendor events or facing legal repercussions for operating someplace that requires you to have coverage.
