Forums are a great way for crafters to meet people, get new ideas, and just discuss their love of the industry in general. The good news is that there are a lot of forums out there to choose from, so you will never be bored. The great thing about forums is that there are hundreds of topics to choose from. Are you looking for events to sell your products? Ask people on the forum and you will get answers. Looking for a specific type of ribbon? The forum members can help. There are forums just for craftsmen and some specifically for women. At ACT, we try to stay on top of trending topics, ideas, and discussions for craftspeople, and one of the best ways to do that is, you guessed it, by monitoring forums.
Forums for crafters are also a good way to get your name out there and possibly find some new customers, and if you have a craft business, you should definitely be taking advantage of the benefits that forums offer. For those of you thinking about joining a forum, the following are a few that you can choose from.
- Craft Forum: This is a great forum because there are a lot of threads (different conversations) for you to choose from. A few of the threads include “Craft TV Shows,” “Scrapbooking,” and “Crafting Business.” You will need to register for an account, but it’s free and easy to do.
- Get Crafty: Another great forum that has a lot of threads. A few topics include “Need Some Crafting Ideas,” Handmade Hairclips and Headbands,” and “4 Nifty New Year’s Tips.” Crafters are encouraged to share their tips, crafts, and anything else that’s on their mind. Registration is encouraged and free.
- Circle of Crafters: This is a great place for you to share your projects. The post is active and some of the threads include “Ribbon Ice Cream Cone,” craft swaps, and even a scrabble game. This forum is active, but some of the threads are a few years old. Registration is free but required.
Even though our main responsibility here at ACT is to provide liability insurance for crafters, we also want to make your craft life a little better and easier and provide blog posts that can help you with your career or hobby as a crafter. This is one of those posts – keep your eyes open for more in the future.
