Do you remember Bob Ross? His Joy of Painting aired on PBS stations where in every episode Bob would paint a picture while instructing viewers on proper painting techniques. Since his death in 1995, Bob Ross has become a cultural icon, providing millions of people the opportunity to learn from and watch Bob paint “happy little trees.”
Why do we bring this up? Well, we bring it up because of the launch of Twitch Creative.
Twitch used to be primarily a way for gamers to showcase their skills and earn some money from people who subscribed to their stream. Now, however, Twitch has opened up their platform and is allowing artists and crafters to use the platform to become…well, Bob Rosses of their own.
Do you like interacting with people? Do you think you have the talent and skills necessary to create your arts or crafts while explaining your techniques and discussing your work? There are many reasons why you might want to consider joining Twitch, but we want to mention two.

Joining Twitch could be a great way to get your name out there and strengthen your personal brand. People from all over the world could potentially have access to you and your work. Think about the possibilities. Now, instead of just showcasing your work at local art fairs (which can still be a great way to get people to know you, don’t get us wrong), you now have a potential worldwide fan group.
Money
Another great reason to join Twitch is that you can potentially generate income through your channel. By partnering with Twitch, you can earn a share of the revenue generated from your broadcasts. Also, people will often simply donate money to their favorite channels on Twitch because they like the person’s work. It’s one thing to earn money after selling your arts or crafts. It’s quite another thing to earn money while you are actually creating the art or crafts.
